In Greene County district court Patrick Michael Kennedy, 31, of Jefferson was sentenced Oct. 9 after pleading guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault, amended from domestic abuse assault-second offense. Kennedy was sentenced to 60 days in jail; all but two were suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He must also complete a batterers education program a his own expense. He must pay a sheriff’s fee for the time he served, a $315 fine with a $110.25 surcharge, $360 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $121 court costs. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Patrick Michael Kennnedy, 31, of Jefferson, operating vehicle without owner’s consent; Eric Wayne Bellinghausen, 35, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury; Jeremy Ernest Andrews, 27, of Jefferson, burglary-third degree; Michael Marlin Matthews, 19, of Grand Junction, domestic abuse assault causing injury; and Brittany Kay Smith, 28, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault-second offense. Trial dates were set for Dec. 15 in every case.
Cases were initiated as follows: Alysha Nicole Dehoet, 37, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine; and Johnathan Dale Laue, 38, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred.
